singing:
we started the singing by going through some vocal warm ups we did things like tongue twisters and going through the different scales with our singing teacher. we then did a song called 'throw and catch' and the aim of it was to pretend you had a ball and you had to sing throw to someone and then the person has to sing catch to show that they have caught it. we then spent the rest of the lesson around the piano learning a song our teacher wrote called 'sing out' the song is all about being in London/the city it was very repetitive so the song was easy to learn and there was an easy melody which i found very good as i usually have trouble learning songs, the only one thing that i have trouble with is the song has a lot of key changes and i always get confused on where they are and also there is one part of the song that is in a very high key and i cant reach it so i also found that difficult. to end the lesson we were give a task to learn the song for our next lesson

singing;
to start the singing lesson we did vocal warm ups where we had to stretch our mouths and act as if we were eating a big sweet. we then did another song called the warm up song and it was singing the same line but each time it finished we had to go up to a higher note, this warm up helped me as i wanted to see the different keys my voice could do. we spent the first part of the lesson singing the song we had previously learnt we were asked to sing the song walking around the room to warm us up a little bit more. for the other part of the lesson we sat in a circle and thought about what we might add to the song (as there was a verse missing). people were saying all sorts of ideas such as; to talk about trains, being late, wifi on the underground, being able to be yourself and more. at the end of the discussion we were told that we would be learning a new song which i was happy about as i wanted to explore different types of music but then we found out its the same song but slowed down. i was a little upset that the song was the same but then after i found that it was quite good to have two of the same songs but in two different styles.

singing:
we started by doing a vocal warm up we sang a song that our teacher had come up with the words were 'every time i get the opportunity to warm up my voice i'm gonna warm it up warm it up' the song is really easy to learn and the it really helps warm up you voice. we did the song because if we did not warm up voice we might strain them and then we wouldn't be able to project so well. we then spent the lesson singing the songs we had been given and we practised it by walking around the room singing it so we can hear everyone singing we then stopped when it came the the verse this helped me as i still hadn't learnt the lines yet so having people around to help me remember was useful.
Monday 2nd october
singing
to begin we were spit into different groups and we were given lines and what ever line you had you had to come up with a mini dance to go with it. we then again went though the songs that we would have to perform we did it first by standing still just singing with the piano but then out teacher put on the backing track so we danced along to it, i found dancing along to the song really good because it really gets you into it. we then moved onto the slow song and i found that hard to sing because we stand still and just sing and i found it hard to just do that.

evaluation
the performances took place inside ual (kings cross campus) and coram's field both of the locations had a completely different vibe. performing at ual was fun but it was all people our age or a little bit older so it was embarrassing as they would film us or start talking or giggling. the building was very nice though and it was so cool to see how it looked all set up. however at coram's field it was either really young kids or their parents and they liked all of the songs no matter what. the down sides of both is at ual when we performed it was an open day so people were walking in and out of the building so it was like no one was listening and with coram's field is that it was outside so it was really cold and my voice started to strain. in the ual performance we were only singing with primary school kids so it was sweet to see how they had their own songs whereas when we were at coram's field there was a whole bunch of different choirs and when we performed the last song i really liked the way it felt as there was all different people of different ages, races and from different areas so it was fun to see how we all sounded. for both of the performances it started with each choir doing their own song and then the last one was us all singing which i think the audiences liked as they got to hear what we all had to sing individually and then when we sang all together it brought a seance of community. when we performed at ual it was in a confined space so we had to walk around with no space but when we were at coram's field we had a bigger space to move about. i felt like the audiences were two different types of people when we did it at the university it was young adults so they found it weird and strange but at the field it was a wider range of people. the strengths of the performance was that we all did so well and we remembered what we were doing and the basic steps a weakness was that on both performances when our group kept on walking around it was hard because we kept crashing into each other. my personal strengths and weaknesses are that i remembered the songs and dances and i was happy that i was able to do it. but a weakness is that i feel like i was smiling to much and i laughed at one point during the song.
Dylan- Just remember Capital letters at the beginning of a sentence and for titles and names, such as 'Coram's Field' and 'Kings Cross'; a little bit of proof reading before publishing/saving your blog writing would be helful preparartion for more academic work.
